Many people pass the time driving in their cars listening to audio books. Whether it is their daily commute to work, or a family roadtrip, books on CD have become increasingly popular. Look at your local library for a selection of free audio books before spending any money buying your own.

My current choice of reading material is Plenty: One Man, One Woman, and a Raucous Year of Eating Locally. Local food production is a subject I am interested in and would like to learn more about. A few people recommended this book and so far I like the flow. I thought it would be very dry, but the authors' writing style interests me and I found it difficult to put the book down after reading the first pages.

Book review: The 4-Hour Work Week

I finished reading The 4-Hour work Week: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich yesterday and already I want to re-read and take notes on certain areas. But alas, it is due back at the library and I know one of my co-workers is on the waiting list to check it out next. This may be a book I have to purchase because I could see myself picking it up for inspiration in the future.

"House Thinking" on hold

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my current book is "House Thinking" by Winifred Gallagher. Although it is very interesting and I would like to finish it, I have decided to move on for now. It is more historical than I expected and is very intelligently written. I would like to read it later when I can devote more time to sitting down and reading. With the snippets of time I have right now, I find myself back-tracking a page every time I pick it up and it is more of a two steps forward, one step back scenario.» continue reading
