I think it is sad when my car is the oldest in a parking lot, especially since it is only 11 years old. My husband and I have never owned a new car, nor would we desire to. There is enough stress in my life without worrying about every little nick and ding on a car. Plus, we have young children, so you know the interior can't stay perfect.

My husband and I are very proud and fortunate that we can get by with only one vehicle in our family. We've lived this way for over four years now and love it. We do look for ways to spruce up the minivan, however, to help it stand out from the droves of other minivans out there.

After much annoyance losing hubcaps when we lived in a town with many dirt roads, we did away with them completely and opted for some black wheels with silver rims. It actually looks really good and we get compliments regularly. Admittedly, there is not much we can do to change the look of a minivan. We could always add a spoiler and a billet grille, but let's face it - a minivan will always look like the family grocery-getter that it is. I guess we should just accept it and move on...

Regular readers of this blog are well aware of my feelings on acquiring new debt and taking out loans.
