The more familiar customers are with your company's identity, the more likely they will be to come to you when they require services or products you can supply.

My family lives in a small town which relies on tourism as the main income. We are one hour from the nearest airport, so we get mainly road-trippers and motorcyclists. Since the price of gas has gone up so much, we have seen a decline in the level of tourism this year. Many of the shops downtown are under new ownership, and there are many other small business for sale currently.

I just returned from a trip to a city much, much larger than where I currently live. I inadvertently spent some time in a shopping mall there and I can safely say that if I never set foot in a mall again, it will be too soon. I am convinced that shopping malls are purely for people addicted to shopping and showing off what they look like and what they can purchase. Why else would shoppers spend three times as much for items they could buy at discount shops or on the internet where the deals are much easier to find?

The state we live in offers health care for any child living in your household under the age of 19 for no charge. There are no premiums, no deductibles, and no co-pay. Another way to switch lots of information between computers is with a flash drive. It's amazing how a piece of equipment that is the size of your thumb can hold up to 16GB of memory! It blows my mind.

The only downside that I see about flash drives is that since they are so small, I worry about losing them.» continue reading

Our home desktop computer has been having hard drive issues for a few weeks now, so my husband had the foresight to backup all of our files and move them onto my laptop. Apparently, there is enough laptop memory to store everything from both computers, although it seems to be running a bit slower now.

I believe that there are probably enough baby clothes in this world to circulate between parents, that no one should have to buy any new ones at all. If you don't know anyone personally to give hand-me-downs, I suggest putting an ad in the paper, posting on a local bulletin board, or getting the word out at school about accepting children's clothing donations.

I recently figured out why I love the "cooing" sound of mourning doves so much. I remembered that when I was a child, we had a hammock in the backyard and while swinging I would often hear the doves "coo". So now whenever I hear that sound, I am instantly more relaxed. I also realized that owls hooting at night evoke the same feeling.
