The new school year is fast approaching, and I am always reminded at this time just how fast my children are growing up. Each stage has its share of worries and problems, but I am trying to focus on what my children are learning now and the positive ways they change every day. One of the things I learned from reading the works of Eckhart Tolle is that we must live in the present, because that is all we ever have. The past lives in our minds in the form of memories, and the future is also in our minds as we picture what will happen.
I must constantly remind myself to slow down, appreciate the little things, and live in the moment. After all, I know it will seem like the blink of an eye and my kids will be teenagers. Then I will have to deal with puberty, acne, crushes, broken hearts, peer pressure, and all the troubles that accompany the teen years.
