This is where I slowly drain the thoughts and opinions from my brain...

I live a voluntarily simplified life, so I will talk about my experience with financial freedom, saving money, and becoming debt-free. My aim is to educate people who have the same goal and help them achieve their dream.

Along with living frugally, I am also environmentally conscious and wish to spread information and tips that many people can use in their everyday lives to make an impact and help save our planet's precious resources.» continue reading

Get a life (insurance)

While we are on the topic of insurance, I would like to discuss another type of insurance that I believe is necessary. Life insurance is there just in case you need it. Renovations complete!

I am very happy to report that our house is 100% complete with the storm damage repairs. You may recall that we had some major damage from a tree which fell on our kitchen on September 14th. Freebie alert!

It is no secret that I love great deals, and what could be better than free?? I found a site called www.securezip.com that offers free zip service to compress large files for easier storage and sending. The software includes a digital certificate so you can exchange files securely without the need for passwords. In addition to this free offer, they are currently hosting a contest at www.DecryptandDrive.com. The prizes include a Honda scooter, bicycles, gas cards, and more! I love that the prizes have the potential to save people money and some even benefit the environment.

Milestones

Tags » |

I remember when my children were born and we anticipated all the major milestones, wondering when they would start crawling, walking, getting teeth, and talking. After the first 3 years, the milestones are more subtle but still equally important. Learning to interact with other children at school is a major accomplishment, and so is being able to walk across the cafeteria without spilling their lunch tray. Learning to read is a huge milestone which is often taken for granted nowadays.
